After partially training as a Plastic Surgeon in the UK, Mr. Richard spent 11 years setting up a department of Plastic Surgery in Nepal, where he had a large experience of paediatric reconstruction especially for cleft lip and palate problems. On returning to the UK he completed UK training in Plastic Surgery, and now Mr. Richard works at BCH as a Cleft Lip and Palate surgeon in addition to any general paediatric plastic surgery work. His other interest is facial reconstruction and in particular facial nerve surgery using nerve and muscle transfers. |

Ian Sharp trained in Dentistry and Medicine in Leeds and worked in several units around the UK before completing higher surgical training in the West Midlands.
